We also focus on best practices, well designed automation & code quality.

 

Internally the company uses a DevOps process based on the Atlassian stack – including but not limited to Jira, Confluence, Bamboo/Jenkins and Git/BitBucket. Projects are required to perform continuous integration and continuous test and we typically maintain separate test, QA, staging and production environments for each project. The majority of our deployments are on the Amazon/Azure cloud using Ubuntu Linux and a combination of services like auto-scale, S3, RDS, EC2, SQS, etc. Projects are configured for continuous integration.

Responsibilities

The DevOps position is responsible for building/maintaining our continuous integration, automating builds, cloud infrastructure setup/automation, and writing automation in Python/Bash.

 

Fortress is building the next platform of threat management security in the cloud and in the wireless router to protect you and your family's smart home.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with software developers using Linux, Python, BASH, Bamboo/Jenkins, cloud services.
  • Maintain software industry security best practices.
  • Work with Product Owners and team to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
  • Author DevOps documentation and test plans for the products developed.
  • Maintain project tracking status of effort quotes, progress, and any impediments.

 

Skills / Attributes Desired

  • 2+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of a small team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new things and self-confidence to ask questions about anything.
  • Self-starter with ambitious ability to identify problems or gaps and take initiative at resolutions.
  • Experience with Jenkins / and or Bamboo build continuous integration/automation server.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).
  • Version control (e.g., Git, Subversion).
  • Cloud IaaS/PaaS: AWS and/or Azure.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Experience with large Linux build environments.
  • Backups: Tar/Amanda/etc.
  • A working understanding of code and scripts (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Practical Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, understanding of routing protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, SSH, clustering/load balancing.

 

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Development background preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux.
  • Hands-on experience relating to Cyber Security (highly valued).
